For those of you who have just stumbled across the site then I am so happy you did as I can reveal to you how I go about making a very good living online.
In fact most of what I earn online is now pretty much on 'auto-pilot' which means I can pop out for a game of golf, or head off on my mountain bike for a few hours, and while I am away I am still making money. No phone calls, no distractions....nothing! Ahhhh, the good life!
Hehhh? I hear you say. How the heck do you do that? Well this all came about by something I happened across about 12 months ago. When doing some research online I happened across a phrase, an inspirational thought or whatever you want to call it. And it is 'work smarter - not harder' or as I like to call it 'The Principle'.
You see most of us are pretty much programmed to believe that by working harder we will get all things that we truly desire. Well, sorry to dissappoint you, but that's a load of cods wallop!
What I went on to discover is that most of the people who earn a great living online were following The Principle, or at least variations of it. The net result being they only work a few hours per day but are still making a lot more money than their counterparts who are working 10 hour days.
As you can imagine I researched a lot more about this principle and how I could apply it to my online business, which since December 2006 has been Affiliate Marketing. So how could I apply The Principle to my Affiliate business? Simple, by putting as much as my work on 'auto-pilot' as possible and leveraging the power of other people and services. More on that here......
I'd Like to Share A Little Adventure Story With You
Part of my own ethos on life is to try and push yourself to the limits. You know, try and get yourself out of your comfort zone and see how far you can push yourself both physically and mentally. Apart from my nightly Mountain Bike rides and my weekly golf games, over the last 5 years I've also been running marathons, half marathons, 10k's etc. However, last year just before I turned 40 I thought I needed to push myself that 'little bit' harder and completed the Marathon des Sables (MDS - Marathon of the Sands), otherwise known as 'The Toughest FootRace On Earth'.
It's a 200km race that skirts around the Sahara (40+ degree heat) and you are pretty much self sufficient. Having to carry a 12kg back-pack with all your essentials including food, sleeping bag etc. It certainly did test me both physically and mentally and gave me the belief that 'I can do anything' and the same is true for each and every one of us.
That's me, about 5 minutes after completing the 200km Marathon des Sables. Holding the much prized Finishers medal. I worked hard for that and the experience will stay with me forever.
And that's why whenever I get asked by anyone on how have I managed to succeed online where many others have failed and the answer is simple. 'Never give up'. There were many times during the MDS where I and others felt like giving up but with the right team of people around us, giving up was never an option, as you always had great support when you needed it most.
And the way I've been making money online is based on the principle of, if I don't know something then I can turn to people who do know. I effectively surround myself with learned people who always know the right answers to all my problems. And that is why my winning mentality enables me to help other people succeed online too. I have been in the same position as you and know exactly what you are thinking right now. The doubts, the fears. If I don't succeed! What if I can't...? What will happen if...? But my friends said it's all a scam... and all those negative thoughts pop into your head. With the right mentoring to guide you then you can turn all those negatives into positives overnight.
And by the way just to 'keep me on my toes' in 2009 I am taking part in The Amazon Jungle Marathon. A 200km trek through the jungles that surround the mighty Amazon river. This event only takes on 85 participants from around the World and like I keep saying, you have to keep pushing yourself and the thoughts of being in the same company as Vampire Bats, deadly snakes and spiders, and the occassional Jaguar (and I'm not talking about the Jaguar car!) has already got me excited and scared, and well and truly out of my comfort zone!
What Can You Achieve?
The main reason for sharing the story above is that in some respects it helps show you what can be achieved when you put your mind to it, and more importantly if you stick to your game plan then you will succeed.
The problem I see with a lot of people who try and make money online is that they jump from one method to another without really giving 'any one' method enough time to work. This is partly due to lack of confidence and they also get distracted when they read about the 'next great product' that will have them earning more money in less time.
NOTE: Write the following above your computer where you can see it and each time you read about a new guide, eBook, course, Business Opportunity then quickly look to what you have written. And the magic words.......
"if it sounds too good to be true then it is!"
Making money online is about finding a method that works and the replicating it again, again and again. And once you have one method working and making you money, preferably on auto-pilot, you then move onto the next method. And once again you repeat it and set it up so that you can run it on auto-pilot and then move on to the next method. Until such time as you have multiple streams of income, and enough money to keep you happy.
And let me also give you the cold hard facts that in order to make money online you will have to work hard. There are NO shortcuts to making a good living online, so the sooner you realise that and get knuckled down then the sooner you'll be making all the money you'll ever need to make you happy.
You see there is no limit to how much you can make but you really do need to focus on getting at least one Method working before trying something new. That has been my experience since I first started online, doing Affiliate Marketing (AM), and although I love AM and have made money consistently from it I am now moving onto other streams of income.
